You do not need a second shop for wholesale. This video follows one product from a retail shopper to a logged-in trade customer, then shows where you set the wholesale price in WooCommerce. The notes below follow the video step by step.
The shopper’s view: retail and wholesale prices
A normal shopper sees the retail price (0:00). When a trade customer logs in (0:13), the same product shows the wholesale price and its quantity tiers (0:19), in the catalogue, the cart and at checkout. If you turn on Show retail price, the retail price appears struck through next to it.
Where the price comes from
- Customer groups (0:30): each group has a discount off retail, for example 20% for Wholesale.
- Account approval (0:42): a trade account gets wholesale prices once you activate it and it belongs to a group.
- The B2B tab on a product (0:55): a fixed price per group overrides the group discount, and you can add quantity tiers, a minimum quantity and a pack size.
- Discounts apply to the regular price or the current sale price, as you choose in the settings.
The wholesale order form
The order form (1:10) lists the catalogue on one page. Buyers filter it, type quantities, see tier prices update as they go (1:21) and add everything to the cart at once with bulk add to cart (1:32). With Enforce quantity rules, minimum quantities and pack steps also apply in the cart and at checkout, not only in the form.
Set it up
- Install and activate B2B for WooCommerce; your retail store stays as it is.
- In B2B > Groups, set the discount of the Wholesale group.
- In B2B > Customers, activate your trade customers.
- Add the Wholesale Order Form block to a page and link it from your trade customers’ account menu or emails.
Frequently asked questions
Can some products be sold only to trade customers?
Yes. The Visibility field on a product’s B2B tab marks it B2B only or Retail only; the other side never sees it.
Can guests see wholesale prices?
No. Wholesale prices are shown only to customers in a group, and you can hide all prices from guests with a “Log in for prices” message.
